indeed, i too share that desire to let the games begin, so-to-speak.
but, what exactly are we to expect when once the games commence?

sn't Apostate Dub an oxymoron?
Perhaps so, since most apostate Dubs are ordinary morons. / You Know

Several enemies of the Watchtower have ebulliently expressed the sentiment: “Let the games begin.” Indeed, I too share that desire to let the games begin, so-to-speak. But, what exactly are we to expect when once the “games” commence?
The upcoming Dateline expose, in all likelihood, will only be the opening salvo of attack upon Jehovah’s Witnesses that will only intensify going forward. The Dateline program will have a two-fold impact, in that it will no doubt stumble some of those who are on the fringe, who are perhaps just studying, or those in our midst who are actively looking for something to stumble over. But, there is a saying that bad publicity is better than no publicity, so the upside is that some outsiders may be drawn to ask the Witnesses about what’s going on, and of course the organization will circle the wagons and draw closer together.
The most significant aspect of any future persecution, though, is the timing, in that the troubles facing the organization are now situated in a period of great uncertainty. The world presently, despite all illusionary impressions to the contrary, is on the verge of a global catastrophe that simply defies imagination. The so-called economic recovery is a mere chimera, evidenced now by the increasing financial outflows out of the U.S., and the fact that the “almighty” dollar is, at last, coming under enormous downward pressure in the currency markets. Gold is starting to pop. The global financial system will shortly be facing its most challenging tests. (Click here for a great explanation of derivatives and how a “rogue wave” can, and in all probability will, obliterate the global financial system.)

America’s New War appears to be in a lull, and yet, students of history may recall the so-called Phony War, so-called in its initial stages, which later became known as the Second World War. The next terrorist’s attack, if severe enough, could well mark the start of WWIII. In all probability, terrorists already possess WMD, but have up to this point been prevented from using them by Jehovah’s restraining angels.
At any rate, what Jehovah’s Witnesses are facing is not merely some bad press, but, simultaneously erupting events, potentially, can trigger the actual conclusion phase of the entire system of things.
The Watchtower, contrary to popular opinion among Jehovah’s Witnesses, is not, nor has it ever been, Jehovah’s organization. Jehovah’s organization is spiritual in nature. You might say it is a virtual organization as opposed to a brick and mortar institution. That being the case, the actual brick and mortar establishment is expendable. But, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York Inc., serves as a visible representation of the invisible organization, so in that respect it is an appropriate target.
Dozens of Psalms are actually prayers evoking the name of Jehovah, which to the present moment stand frozen in time, only to be thawed during the heat of our final trial. Interestingly, numerous Psalms call upon Jehovah to take up our legal case. That is a clear indication that the Watchtower’s legal team ain’t gonna cut it when it gets really bad. Appropriately, only Jehovah God will be able to save us from the calamity coming upon us. That’s why Psalm 54 says:
O God, by your name save me,
and with your mightiness may
you plead my cause.
O God, hear my prayer;
Do give ear to the sayings of my mouth.
For there are strangers that have
Risen up against me,
And tyrants that do seek my soul

the wtbts uses the word 'jehovah' to lord it over people.
it's great that they picked on a made up name - it's a gift horse in the mouth for you to be so at liberty to drop it.
(i love sayings, you know, a gift , horse / pride, and from their own mouth?)..
We would prefer that you stop using the name of our God as well. So, it's really a win-win deal for everyone concerned. LOL / You Know
i have been studying with the jw's for several years.
they have been pressuring me to become one of them, but something seems to be holding me back, instinct maybe?
i agree a lot of their teaching are good, and i'm sure are the truth but here are a few of the things that bother me: jw's use the scripture hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the gathering of yourselves together...... to justify their meetings.
And the New Testament is written in Greek, period, - not Hebrew.
Yes, the NT was written in Greek and the OT in Hebrew. Most people know that. The point is, that when Jesus read from the OT, and he may well have read from the Septuagint Greek translation of the Hebrew, which also carried the divine name in the form of the original Hebrew YHWH, which ever he used, Jesus came across the name of God in the text. And the point is that Jesus would not have followed the ignorant custom of the Jews of not pronouncing the name. So, where Jesus read from Isaiah 61:1 he would have pronounced the name of God. yesterday at the book study it was brought out that people simply cannot understand the bible without the societies interpretations.. i have been pondering some scriptures and asked my teacher this:.
who is paul speaking to in 1 thess, and how do you explain chapter 4, verses 13-18. well she answered the first part of my question but waffled on the second.
i'll have to do some research, was the response.
since they have to die, how do you suppose that will happen? Via all natural cause?
It's a sacred secret so I ain't supposed to tell you. Paul said at Cor. 15:51 "Look! I tell you a sacred secret: We shall not all fall asleep, but we shall all be changed."

Paul was writing to those as he said, in verse 17, who are in union with Christ. Paul is making a contrast between the resurrection of those who die before Christ arrives and those who are living at the moment when Jesus is said to arrive and take the remaining members of his anointed congregation to himself in heaven. Those who die before Christ arrives must sleep in death but are resurrected first, during Christ's presence. Afterwards, during the tribulation, the trumpet blows, and Jesus collects all the remaining members. The difference is that those who are said to be living don't have to sleep in death, but, they do have to die. Hope that helps

metadrone says:
Since the Society inserted the name into those quotes in its version of the New Testament, you really don't have any proof they used Jehovah.
The proof we have is that the divine name was used in the Hebrew text that Jesus and Paul read and quoted from. It is highly unlikely, no, it is unthinkable, that the Son of Jehovah followed the Jewish superstition of the time and avoided pronouncing his Father's name when he read it in the holy Scriptures. In view of the fact that apostate scribes sought to erase the divine name from the Bible, the Watchtower Society is justified in inserting the name Jehovah in the NT whenever the OT that contained the name was quoted. Although the clergy and apostates, and those under their influence, may find the personal name of God unimportant, or even offensive, the Bible belongs to those who love Jehovah and it is ours to use and translate as we see fit. We are not bound in any way by the petty prejudices and ignorance of those who don't love the truth. / You Know
